[This post came a little late... Even though the Lakers fell short at the NBA Finals, here's a little something to pay tribute to the Laker guard Kobe Bryant for his valiant effort to win another title and for inspiring me to play B-ball]

Kobe's trey on game 2 of the NBA finals 2004

Some say he's a phenomenal player, some say he's selfish and childish. Some say he glues the team and makes awesome plays for them. Some say he rocks the team... apart.

He has the moves, power moves, fearsome dunks, killer spin moves, the creativity, and a clutch player like Michael Jordan. But he doesnt have everybody's thumbs up. They say he will always be second best to Shaquille O'neal, but he will always be my basketball hero.

Kobe's crunchtime 3 pointer @ Portland that sent the game into over time

Whenever I step into the court, I think of him, I am him, I am Kobe Bryant...
and I am invincible!

Kobe's game winning trey on that same game VS. Portland that gave them the Pacific Division title

His future is uncertain, but I sure hope that he will win, in every battle, including that in Colorado...

You will win, because you got the heart of a champion!

Learn from your mistakes, don't let fame get in your head. Play every moment as if it was your last.

Pinoy ako!!!

What I admire most about Americans is how much they show their love for their country. You can see it in almost everything they do, How many times have we seen movies that display their loyalty to their flag to their nation. 9/11 showed the world how one tragedy can unite a nation. No matter how big the adversity is. They stood proud and faced the challenge. You can feel how much they honor their nation everytime they sing their national anthem? Have you heard Jason Mraz's rendition of it on the opening ceremonies of Game 2 of the NBA finals? How about Anita Baker's? (Game 3) The crowd stood tall, you'll feel the soul within the song...

Today as we celebrate our Independence day, I'd like to do the same, I want to tell the world how proud of my country I am, no matter how the world seems to look down on us, I still believe that one day, as we've already done in the past, we would leave a mark of greatness in this world. I am a Filipino! and I am proud to be one.

This is one great song about us, take pride in our flag, in our roots.

[I wish our artists would follow Bamboo's step in making a nice song that speaks of us Filipinos with pride and love of our country...]

For all of us Filipinos, Mabuhay!!!

Noypi
Bamboo

Tingnan mo ang iyong palad
Kalyado mong kamay
sa hirap ng buhay
Ang dami mong problema
Nakuha mo pang ngumiti
Noypi ka nga

Astig!

Bridge:

Saan ka man naroroon
huwag kang matatakot
Sa baril o patalim
Sa bukas na madilim

Hoy!
Pinoy ako
Buo aking loob
May agimat ang dugo ko!
Hoy!
Oh, Pinoy ako
May agimat ang dugo ko...

Sinisid ko ang dagat
Nilibot ko'ng mundo
Nasa puso ko pala
Hinahanap kong gulo
Ilang beses na akong
muntikang mamatay
Oh alam ko'ng sikreto
kaya nandito pa't buhay

Bridge 2

Oh, sabi nila
May anting-anting ako
Pero di nila alam
Na Diyos ang dahilan ko

Dinig mo ba ang bulong
ng lahi mo?
Isigaw mo, kapatid,
ang hinihinga natin

Home

Like an orphan seeking for shelter, I walked and wandered, looking for a place to stay, a place to call my home.

Through endless dark, narrow alley ways, to the city and under the bridge I spent my cold nights holding, embracing myself.

I walked and walked, at times I lost all my hopes that I'll ever find that place, but the morning sun would always remind me to walk again, and when the day seized to an end, when the sun sets and the lights go out, my tired restless body and soul would feel the emptiness again.

Some days, some nights, someone will take me in, offer a loving embrace that tells you that you're home at last, a blanket of warm love that will soon fade quickly and will soon throw you out of the door.

Until at last, your hand caught mine, gently you showed me the way in, you whispered into my ear and said "I'll never let you go" you welcomed me with a warm embrace and led me to your heart, a place I can finally call my home.

Each time you look into my eyes and I feel the love it conveys, I find a sense of peace that claims my entire being, and I ask why, what did I ever do to deserve you... I cannot say no more, I do not now what you see in me... I have not much to offer but my heart... my mind my body and my soul... take it... and I won't ask anymore...
Coz there's something in the way you look at me...

The way you look at me
Christian Bautista

No one ever saw me like you do
All the things that I could add up to
I never knew just what a smile was worth
But your eyes say everything without a single word

Coz there's something in the way you look at me
It's as if my heart knows you're the missing piece
You make me believe that there's nothing in this world I can't be
I'd never know what you see
But there's something in the way you look at me

If I could freeze the moment in my mind
Be the second that you touch your lips to mine
I'd like to stop the clock make time stand still
Coz baby this is just the way I always want to feel

Coz there's something in the way you look at me
It's as if my heart knows you're the missing piece
You make me believe that there's nothing in this world I can't be
I'd never know what you see
But there's something in the way you look at me

I don't know how or why
I feel different in your eyes
All I know is that it happens every time

Coz there's something in the way you look at me
It's as if my heart knows you're the missing piece
You make me believe that there's nothing in this world I can't be
I'd never know what you see
But there's something in the way you look at me

...The way you look at me

For my friend Loraine, this song goes to her lost love...

The Reason
Hoobastank

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
Thats why i need you to hear

I've found a resaon for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is You

I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

Same person, same eyes, different view

I guess your wondering why I moved, the title above tells the story behind it.
I'm still yaj, happy the clown, I'm still the same old me, only I dont wear a frown anymore, nor do I go to bed crying.

I guess I'm a lot tougher now, still a little vulnerable though.

My eyes now looks at the world with that same curiousity I once had as a child, with awe and inspiration, I see the world in a different light, the colors are ever more radiant, somehow it still reminds me of my dark past, my sleepless nights, gloomy, chasing my soul into the darkness, but through the dawn I would see the sun arising, as if telling me that everything's gonna be alright.

That's why I had to leave, there is so much pain and sadness in my old home, I've been living under the blue sky , I never tried reaching it, or painting it when it went dark...

maybe I'll just paint my skies blue again...
