Year ender: Images from Christmas 2k4

As much as I try so hard to avoid this blog becoming a photoblog... my last post for this year would be filled with photos of one of my most memorable, meaningful and happiest christmas ever, as far as I can remember... Ironic, I remember talking about how the Christmas season is passing without me noticing it, I even said that Christmas is onlt for kids... I was wrong.

Again, thank you God for the gift of life, without it we can never experience your Love, Thank you for PYM family! Thank you for the people that makes us look bad, for without them we can never say we look good. Thank you for the criticisms, it taught me how to be more mindful of my actions... Thank you for doubting our intentions, it reminded us to be more sincere... Thank you for the people who are self righteous, constantly reminding us how human we are, flawed but can change for the better...Thank you for all the trials, because of them we learned to endure and be strong. Thank you for everything. Thank you for giving your Son to us, truly the one reason for this season...

There is a God. and that is beyond contestation. Period.

Phone call

We were having a our Christmas party in our street when Mom came out of our house all excited lke she won something from the lottery and exclaimed! "Jay, channel 7 daw!!! dalii!!"

I rushed to our phone, now with excitement rushing through my veins and draining all the blood on my face. The lady on the other line asked, "Are you Jay Beltran?" "Direk Cesar Cosme asked me to call you up to confirm if this is really your number" Apparently, the number I attached with the Video I sent to GMA 7 got misplaced and they were just guessing and mixing up my number...

A few minutes later. Direk Cesar Cosme (Bro. Willy from Bubble Gang's Ang Dating Doon segment, the one with the wig remember?, ) called me up and told me that he liked the audition video that I sent and he's goin to meet me on January 3. Wow!!!

So there, I guess this New Year's gonna be a good one... I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Yaj in showbusiness?!?, interesting...

While we were merrying...

While most of us were having a merry christmas, having a good time with our families. An earthquake struck Indonesia with a magnitude of 9.0 and consequently a Tsunami followed claiming thousands of lives in Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and other south asian nations.

This disaster is one of the worst disasters the whole world has seen. Reminding us the frailty of human life...

I feel truly and deeply sorry for all those who lost their loved ones, for all the lives lost... Let us all be thankful that our country was spared, and thank God that we are still alive.

I hope we can all do something to help, for all of you guys who are more than able, please donate. This way we can also help to prevent this calamity from escalating further...

Here are some pics I found on the web...

Panunuluyan

Last night we had our Panunuluyan, its a form of carolling but its a little different because we had to wear costumes and two of our members played the role of Mary and Joseph looking for a place to stay. Here's the draft of the letter that we sent out which posted a lot of controversy for issues only they could understand.

Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong taon!!!

And here's the song that we sang for each house we knocked on and carol to...

PANUNULUYAN

O Ginoong maybahay

Magdalita't kami'y dungawan

Ampunin at kahabagan

Sa Mahal nyo pong tahanan

Sino kayong tumatawag

Ngalan ninyo'y ipagbansag

Sabihin kung saan buhat

At anong pakay at hanap

Kami po'y magkasi at ibig

Na si Maria at si Jose

Na nagbuhat pa sa Nazareth

Pagpasok dito ang nais

Kung dine sana ay may lugar

Gaano ang kayo'y dulutan

Di ba ninyo namamasdan

Na kami'y walang kalagyan

Paalam na po maginoo

At sa iba kami'y tutungo

Birhen Maria Poon ko

Paano na kaya tayo

and here are some pics from our "Panunuluyan"

Brian as Joseph, Jamie as Mama Mary and Jamie's Little Sis as the cute angel! :)

The prayerful angel with Joseph and Mary

Gabriel Arkanghel ang Musikerong Anghel :)

I wish everyone a happy and meaningful celebration of Our Lord Jesus Christ's birth, I hope that we will remember the reason for this season...

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!!

A sad reality

Its true, the more we want to be closer to God, the more we seem to drift away from Him. The more we try to follow His footsteps, the more we seem to get lost.
I know, experience has taught me one of life's bitter lessons, that the people who claim to have offered their service, or devotion to Him are the ones who does a great job in ridiculing others, criticizing a good intention/suggestion, never ceases to whine for every small task given to Him.

I am human, I make mistakes, I do not have the purest of all intentions, I am a sinner and I am not proud to be one. I wish for something good and I want to do something about it. Please do not prevent me from serving Him. I wish to do good because I want to be close to Him. I want to love Him, in my heart I know I do.

When we decide to serve Him, we should not take credits for our deeds, we do not expect merits or awards, nor expect to gain something. Unless we become selfless we can never serve God to the fullest.

I am sad. and I am deeply disappointed.

To see that the church in all its glory is filled with people who work for their own personal interest and not as one.

To see them claim to be in communion but are scattered and divided with their own beliefs
To hear a selfish deed cloaked with ones "divine" goodness.

We are the church, whatever we impart, whatever we do is a reflection of who we are. Let us not shame ourselves in front of God.

Like what I said, I am human, I make mistakes, I do not have the purest of all intentions, we all do.

But working as one, and unselfishly wont hurt, will it?

Just a thought.
